The Art of the Loser

Hillary keeps asserting that, while she prepares for every event, especially the “debates”, The Donald seems to come to these affairs entirely unprepared, aside from his stomach full of hateful vomit. I have come up with a new theory. Remember The Art of the Deal, that infamous book that was written for The Donald in his name, because his advanced ADHD prevents him from writing an actual book of any kind. Well, I think something else entirely is going on. I think The Donald is busily preparing his next venture, a new book he will call The Art of the Loser.

See, The Donald has really developed a true art and he perfects it more, polishes it really, each time he enters a new adventure.  Think of his experience.

1.       Three marriages, with multiple affairs on the side, implying at the least two failures;

2.       Five (Six???, Seven???) bankruptcies, implying companies he started and then either allowed or caused to fail. This is an amazing accomplishment, since most people can’t properly manage more than one or two bankruptcies;

3.       A full-on big-time Con game he called Trump University in which he allowed folks to enroll at substantial (multiple thousands) fees, gave them nothing of value in return, and then had the whole con game called to a halt by the legal system that finally caught up with him;

4.       A largely fake foundation that seems to donate relatively little of his money to actual charitable institutions, instead giving money back to Trump for renting MaraLago and other Trumpian enterprises for “services rendered”.  His “foundation” is no longer allowed to raise funds in New York due to his shady methods of accounting for and distributing funds.

5.       And then we have his run for the Presidency of the United States. It seemed to begin as a kind of sick joke on America by a Reality TV star, and then spun out of even his tiny hands.  That he is within 10 points of Hillary seems unimaginable, especially given his inept (loser?) performance. But he perhaps correctly assessed his support base when he acclaimed to his body faithful that he could take a gun, walk out onto Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and his poll numbers would go up.   His support base seems to be a scary lot, yelling “Lock her up”, or “kill her” at his rallies, and sucker punching opposition folks who showed at his rallies. Thoughts of 1930’s Germany come to mind.

6.     He even now seems to be projecting his loss (perfecting his Loser status?) by decrying that the game is rigged at every opportunity. Would anyone with even a thought of winning be employing such a sad tactic? No, he is simply adding to his experience base to perfect his game (The Art of the Loser)

So, my theory is that, with his now vast experience at losing, he is actually paving the way for a new best-seller called The Art of the Loser.  The book will doubtless be ghost-written, since someone with such a long history of advanced and untreated ADHD could not possibly write an actual book by himself.  Whether he returns to his favorite ghost-writer, Tony Schwartz, or calls into service a new ghostie remains to be seen. Tony had some snarky commentary on The Trump lately, so he might be a chancy candidate for Ghost-Writer for Losers. So, we will need to await his decision whether to write the book first, or start his next venture, The Trump Network, his next bankruptcy in waiting.  I know. Maybe The Donald could go into competition with the Koch Brothers on some new reality TV program, with the beginning episode, “Who’s the Most Hated Man in America??”

Wouldn’t you love to see that competition???

Ta. See you on November 9th, when America crashes into the Moon . . ., just before The Donald decides to establish a Trumpian Motel Six on the Moon.

The Election is Almost Over

So, Are You Fed Up Yet?

Like many millions of folks, I don’t really know what to say any more about this election and Donald Trump.  I have been paying attention to elections (and voting) since the 1952 Eisenhower-Stevenson campaign. I was an incoming freshman at Stanford University, and had til then been a mere onlooker to US elections, but one who paid attention nonetheless. In those days, it was hard not to pay attention.  We had that War thing, with President Roosevelt leading the nation politically, and Eisenhower—Ike—leading our military assaults on the Hitler war machine.  We did listen to Roosevelt’s “chats” on the radio. We did pay attention to war, since not long after we managed to end those dreadful conflicts across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, another war began . . . this time in the Korea’s. The Cold War began seemingly at the same time as the hot one ended. North Korea was on the other side of the world, but supported by the Chinese Communist regime, and, indirectly by Russia.  Apparently, we humans can’t get enough of War. We love it, all that shooting and killing, all that stuff that goes boom in the night.  Yeah, I still remember chatting it up with my buddies, all of us turning 18 and awaiting our Selective Service notices.  So, yes, we paid attention.
We even managed to pay attention and to vote when we landed in New Delhi, India in 1964. Remember Johnson and Goldwater??? How could we not vote???
We remember vividly the first presidential debates—Nixon-Kennedy. And although Nixon was a despicable tyrant-potential, he at least seemed knowledgeable. But now . . . wow, how America has sunk.  It seems all the idiots have come out of their respective “deplorable closets” to press for the election of a true Malenfant-Terrible—yes, he gives the term enfant-terrible an entirely new meaning.
The Donald has been defined as narcissistic, a true sociopath, and, from simple observation, he is clearly adult ADHD. He apparently can neither read nor write, so he uses others to do those chores for him—see The Art of the Deal.
So, according to the Mayo Clinic, narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.” Hmmm . . . seem familiar?
And antisocial personality disorder, sometimes called sociopathy, is a mental condition in which a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others. People with antisocial personality disorder tend to antagonize, manipulate or treat others harshly or with callous indifference. They show no guilt or remorse for their behavior. Sounds like The Donald to me.
And then there’s the ADHD. Adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental health disorder that includes a combination of persistent problems, such as difficulty paying attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behavior. Adult ADHD can lead to unstable relationships, poor work or school performance, low self-esteem, and other problems. Now who could that describe?
We can no longer watch any more “debates”, since they are both maddening and depressing at the same time. The depressing part is what happens to me when I consider what all this says about America and the American people. What troubles me the most I think, Is what outrages people, especially those supposedly consequential folks who “run” our country. Donald is known to have cheated hundreds perhaps thousands of people—think Trump University, a clear fraud—and the many workers who did work for him and who he refused to pay.  Nothing, no outrage.
Then think of his boast—“I could walk out onto Fifth Avenue, shoot someone and my poll numbers would go up”.  Think also of his threats about Hillary. He says publically that the election would be rigged if he loses and that people will have no recourse, except, you know the “Second Amendment people”—meaning that his followers perhaps could arrange to assassinate the next President, should he lose.  Did that spur outrage?? Hmmm, No.
He also, in his last debate, promised to jail Hillary once he is elected. Who does that, aside from people like Putin or perhaps Kim Jung Un—it is a classic dictator move—once you acquire power, you jail the opposition.
And lest we forget his records as businessman and as a husband,  he has declared bankruptcy four times—he couldn’t make money operating a gambling casino for God’s sake—and he declared moral bankruptcy several times in marriage, now on his third and counting, due to his serial infidelities.  Hey, right wing Christians, you know you guys of the “marriage is a sacred thing with ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN”, you’re supporting this cretin? So, you really have no actual principles at all?
And now, suddenly, after release of the Trump sex tapes where he confesses to abusing women routinely, cuz he’s a star don’t you know, now, idiots like Paul Ryan and John McCain have come out and asserted they will no longer support him. Wow, really guys? That’s what it took? You were otherwise ok with him as the titular head of your crap political party? You are a horrible joke, all of you.
And I cannot wait for this travesty of an election to be over. And for you “second amendment” crowd, you know, the paranoid, anti-American idiots with too many guns, if you want to start a gunfight at the OK Corral, because your cretinous leader loses, remember that we have the United States Army on our side. And I cannot wait to see you try to intimidate them. They don’t take to intimidation.
So, just go vote, everyone. It will soon be over, and The Donald can crawl into his spiderhole and join his ratpack Cheney, Rudy, et al.  Maybe then life can resume in America.
